Originally constructed as an elegant residential hotel built in 1917, The Touraine combines original architectural details with modern comforts. The Touraine is Philadelphia's most central and beautiful address. Located on a tree-lined block of... Spruce Street, the Touraine is just a quick walk to Rittenhouse Square, the Avenue of the Arts, and all the transportation and shopping of Center City. Ours is a thriving community of locally owned businesses, from craft beer to great coffee, bike repair to bagels, and countless beloved BYOBs where you can dine outside. Our block is home to exquisite buildings and vibrant street life.

We lived in this building from September 2013 through September 2015. I have no hesitation in saying that this building is absolutely one of the best in the city. Our time here has been absolutely amazing. Here are a few things you will really enjoy about The Touraine:
1. It is "The Touraine" - baby! It is a landmark building, with a lot of character and history. It is a easily recognized building, and has a lot going for it. In all my conversations with people around the city, whenever I said... I live at The Touraine, it was immediately recognizable and everyone has the nicest things to say about it.
2. Location. It is a two block walk to Rittenhouse Park. A one block away from the Avenue of the Arts (think Kimmel Center, Academy of Music etc.). It has about 40 restaurants in a 5 block radius. You can literally stumble home from Philadelphia's best Beer Emporium - The Monks Cafe! On both end of Spruce Street are two of the best parks in the city. The Schuykill River Park and the Spruce Harbor Park.
3. The Staff & Management: They really care. They will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. The maintenance crew is amazing. We have had them come in for the smallest thing, and they take care of it in no time. Really professional.
4. The Updates: The Lobby speaks for itself, and so do the apartments (though you can get the un-updated ones for a bargain) - however the two biggest improvements coming to The Touraine are a new gym and new elevators.
So there you have it, we love the place, and so it is perhaps a bit of a biased review. But just want you to know our experience.

Everyone was courteous, prompt, shared info. The view was not what I wanted. That was the competition. I'm sure other floors had better views, but could not see because non available. Closet space more than other 5 high rises I viewed.
