If you choose Domus, you will have problems. When you have problems, you will not receive support. I am an older professional with many years of experience living in apartments. This one is the worst period. There are so many issues, it would take me days to list them. Since UCity has a lot of apartment options now, do yourself a favor and choose a different one. Do not choose Domus.

This building is full of students, many of whom are still enjoying party lifestyle. Most families and professionals must have left this building as we have seen fewer and fewer of them over the past 12 months.
SInce majority of tenants are students, this has impacted many living conditions such as public dumping in stairway and hallway area, playing loud music during the day and night, loud noise in the hallway, unflatten cardboard boxes, trash chute door left ajar that stinks up the elevator... area, moving equipment around in the gym but do not put it back, not wiping down after finished using gym equipment, playing loud music through portable speakers in public areas such as the pool and the gym, etc. These examples are something one would expect from a student dormitory, not from a place that cost this much.
Not to mention the fire alarm latches are being pulled for fun numerous times a month and the management is not sharing if they have a plan to stop this behavior. All they do is posted a piece of paper by the mailroom - no email ever been sent out regarding this fire alarm issue. Imagine having to get out of your bed at 4.20am and standing outside the building for 20 minutes. Well, this happens quite frequently.
If you are not a student, stay away from this place. The rooms facing Ludlow are extremely loud with trash trucks operating every night from 1am-7am. Each trash truck emptying a dumpster visit will last approximately 15-20 minutes usually will come at 2am, 4am and 6am servicing Domus, Sheraton, and CHOP buildings. Between 6pm-midnight, prepare for banging noise from Wawa and Heirloom trucks re-stocking, loading and unloading products. Yes, it is very loud.

Was VERY disappointed with how Domus handled the leasing process. I was initially planning to sign a lease with Domus, but my father was diagnosed with stage 4 liver and kidney failure so I needed to put off moving due to the financial strain of his illness. Domus was utterly unsympathetic, insisting we either sign the lease or lose all $1500 of our deposit. In the application, it said the application fee was nonrefundable and that the deposit may or may not be refundable for "liquidated damages... ." We assumed that given the circumstances it would be refunded to us, but we were wrong. Throughout the entire process, Domus seemed more concerned with making money off of us then being accomodating in an already difficult situation. We would have loved to move to Domus (though perhaps later than we originally thought) but after this experience we will definitely be looking elsewhere.

I have lived at the Domus building since 2009 and it has been a wonderful experience. The building is located between two prominent Universities of higher learning, 10 minutes from center city Philadelphia, restaurants, museums, shopping and 20 minutes from Philadelphia International airport. The interior and exterior of this building is incredibly maintained and all issues are promptly handled in a timely fashion. The management staff are very professional and have created a very caring and... friendly environment. Not only do I love living here but I feel safe.

Property Manager at Domus responded to this review
I am very sorry to read about your father and his diagnosis! Unfortunately, we were unable to refund your deposit. The application paperwork that was signed discussed our policies for refunds. Our industry is governed by strict Fair Housing laws,... which denote that we treat all of our residents on an equal basis and we cannot make special accommodations. I work at our corporate office and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
Best regards,
