Be a part of history! ICON mixes the beauty of the past with the modern amenities of today. Included on the National Register of Historic Places – this incredible rental building soars to new heights, just like its iconic, ziggurat-topped peak.... Looking for a downtown Philadelphia apartment near Rittenhouse Square? You’ve found it!
ICON is the most exciting rental property to ever grace Rittenhouse Square. A quintessential example of the Art Deco exuberance that defined the 1920s and 30s, ICON’s design is inspired by Art Deco’s geometric shapes and today’s streamlined lifestyle. With this historic luxury building, you can be within steps of all the fine dining, high-end retail and cultural offerings that Philadelphia has to offer.
The most fashionable edifice of its day, ICON is as rich in history as it is in beauty. Opened in 1930, at the beginning of the Great Depression, the building’s ground floor tenants included both Cunard’s White Star Line and the United States Lines, and the esteemed Pew family maintained a pied-a-terre on the 25th Floor. Today, this history echoes throughout ICON, a building that is a rare architectural experience.
A community devoted to wellness, ICON features a CorePower Yoga on the street level. A StretchLab and Club Pilates is situated on the first floor. Along with a state-of-the-art fitness center, there’s no need to leave ICON for your various strength training, cardio or enhancing your flexibility. Namaste!

This is the worst building I have ever lived in. The security is never wearing their masks properly or sitting at the desks. I left my last apartment due to cockroaches and mice. The utilities are EXTREMELY over priced and the appliances in the units are always breaking. The building is contracted with EMS for utilities and they charge you based on the overall usage of the building (that includes vacant units and the price to work the gym and other amenities). The staff turnover is so frequent... that you never know who or what is going to help you with an issue. The elevators are frequently broken and the fobs never work with them. The building is close to a lot of shopping but there are copious amounts of homeless people and in June the building was broken into during the riots. The building is overpriced. Save your money and move somewhere else.

I have lived in the Icon for 2 years. Nothing in the city beats the amazing location right in the middle of Center City, surrounded by any store you could want. I have never felt unsafe or unhappy with the street itself. The building is extremely clean and well-kept, with a great coffee machine, lounge area with pool tables and a theater room, a stunning rooftop area, and a gym in the building included in the rent. I cannot recommend the Icon more. The actual apartments are the perfect size and... the views are beautiful. I have visited many apartments in Philadelphia and can honestly say not many can compete with the Icon.
